Guatemala City dates to the pre-Columbian era and was primarily inhabited by the Mayan people, which lends to its diversity in landmarks, ruins, art, and culture. When to Go
Guatemala City hosts various cultural festivals throughout the year, such as Semana Santa and Día de la Independencia. Many of these festivals can be experienced between the months of March and early December. Ideal travel weather spans from November to April, Guatemala’s dry season, when the skies are clear and outdoor attractions are at their most inviting. The rainy season is typically from May to October. While the dry season is generally recommended, it is also worth noting that Guatemala City's festival season can provide yet another unique, spirited, and ideal experience, just be prepared for the occasional shower.
